CXOToday has engaged in an exclusive interview with Subhankar Das Executive Chairman of Global Knowledge Campus

  1. When was Global Knowledge Campus established and how many courses are being taught here?

Global Knowledge Campus, established in 2009, has become one of the premier educational institutions in West Bengal. Operating under the Trustee Board of the “National Center for Development of Technical Education,” the campus is located in Krishnagar, with excellent connectivity to NH-12 (formerly known as NH-34).

The campus encompasses eight academic channels, offering a diverse range of 30 courses. The Global Institute of Management and Technology provides undergraduate B.Tech programs in five engineering disciplines: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Computer Science Engineering, along with diploma courses in Civil and Mechanical Engineering. The Global College of Pharmaceutical Technology offers M.Pharma, B.Pharma, and D.Pharma degrees.

Additionally, the Global College of Science and Technology offers degrees and diplomas in Hotel Management, BCA, BBA, BBA in Hospital Management, Bachelor of Data Science, and BMLT. The Global Hiramoni Nursing Institution provides GNM and B.Sc. Nursing programs. The Global Pvt. ITI offers ITI courses focused on vocational training, while the Global Institute of Education has initiated teacher training courses such as B.Ed and D.El.Ed.

All these institutes are affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology and approved by the All-India Council for Technical Education. Another significant achievement for the campus is the establishment of Krishnagar Public School, the first CBSE school in Krishnagar, offering classes from Pre-nursery to XII.

  1. How technology is important to implement the skills and employment in education?

In today’s rapidly evolving world, integrating technology into education is of paramount importance. It is not merely an addition but a fundamental component that significantly enhances the educational experience. By embedding technology within our educational framework, students gain vital skills that align with the demands of contemporary employment. Digital platforms and tools foster an interactive and engaging learning environment, promoting a deeper understanding of the material. Furthermore, technology effectively bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring our students are well-prepared for the modern job market. Ultimately, the seamless integration of technology in education cultivates a skilled and adaptable workforce, ready to navigate the complexities of the future.

At Global Knowledge Campus, we recognize the critical role of technology in education. Currently, 80% of the 27 courses offered are technology-driven, reflecting our commitment to enhancing employability and preparing our students for success in the digital age.

  1. How are educational institutions addressing the need for digital literacy and skills in the curriculum? And how Global Knowledge Campus is approaching towards this process?

In today’s fast changing digital world, educational institutions are at the forefront of preparing students for vital digital literacy and skills. Recognising the critical role that technology plays in all aspects of society, schools and institutions are implementing complete digital curriculum that go beyond basic computer use. Students are learning coding, data analysis, and digital citizenship at a young age, preparing them for future employment and ethical online behaviour. Furthermore, educators are using online materials and interactive tools to supplement traditional teaching techniques, creating a more engaging and dynamic learning environment. Collaborations with technology companies and online platforms enable students to gain hands-on experience and real-world problem-solving abilities.

Educational institutions prioritise digital literacy to ensure that students are not simply technology consumers, but also innovators and leaders in the digital age.At Global Knowledge Campus, we are committed to improving our students’ education by emphasising skill-based technologies that go beyond the traditional curriculum, preparing them to excel.

  1. Howare online learning platforms transforming IT education?

Online learning platforms have transformed IT education, making it accessible to a global audience without regard for geography or time. These platforms provide high-quality courses that allow people to learn about a variety of IT subjects, from basic programming to complex ones like machine learning, all from the comfort of their own homes. The flexibility and modular structure of online courses allow students to personalise their educational experiences to their specific requirements and schedules. Furthermore, interactive features like coding exercises, rapid feedback, and collaborative projects foster a realistic and interesting learning environment. As a result, online learning platforms have dramatically expanded the scope of IT education, making it more accessible and inclusive than ever before.

  1. What role does artificial intelligence play in modern IT curricula?

Artificial intelligence (AI) is an essential component of modern information technology curricula, functioning as both a vital subject of study and a revolutionary educational tool. AI covers a wide range of disciplines, including machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, and robotics, all of which are critical to modern IT. Integrating AI into the curriculum ensures that students understand these modern technologies, increasing their employability and preparing them for future advances. Furthermore, AI-powered technologies are increasingly being used to personalise and improve the learning experience. AI-powered adaptive learning systems may measure student performance and deliver customised feedback and resources, increasing educational effectiveness and personalisation. Essentially, AI not only enriches the content of IT curricula but also enhances the methodologies employed in teaching it.

  1. What trends are emerging in cybersecurity education and training?

The landscape of cybersecurity education and training is rapidly changing, reflecting the growing complexity of cyber threats and technical breakthroughs. A notable trend is the emphasis on practical, hands-on training in cyber labs and simulation environments, where students may practice threat identification, response, and mitigation in actual scenarios. Furthermore, there is an increasing emphasis on multidisciplinary approaches, which combine concepts from computer science, law, and ethics to provide a comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity. The rise of certification and micro-credentialing programs demonstrates the shift towards continuous learning, which ensures professionals stay current on the newest innovations and best practices. Furthermore, including AI and machine learning into cybersecurity training provide students with the ability to create and implement intelligent security solutions. These emerging trends reflect a dynamic and adaptive educational framework, poised to address the diverse challenges of cybersecurity in the digital era.
