  • In today’s global corporate environment, what function do Global Capability Centres play?

In today’s volatile & fungible scenario , GCCs are becoming nerve centres for the parent organizations by driving & delivering core innovative and transformative work spheres of the parent enterprises. GCCs are morphing themselves into hubs of Gen AI , AI and new age technologies and are accelerating business strategy implementation and accentuating business performance for the enterprises.

 

  • Could you give instances of how AI has boosted creativity or efficiency in the GCC?

GCCs are setting up state of art AI CoE & capability hubs to reimagine customer experience , innovate new products and services and transform businesses through disrupting the business value chains. Further , AI CoE in GCCs are also bringing efficiencies by embedding AI in the core of business processes .

 

  • Why are businesses spending more money in the GCCs to meet their technology and AI needs?

Parent organisations are looking at GCCs as value creators rather than cost centres; with high concentration of AI talent in India , parent organisations are looking at India GCCs to initiate new research developments in AI and conceptualise and create new AI led products and solutions from GCCs .

 

  • For a GCC to successfully apply AI solutions, what kind of IT infrastructure is required?

A GCC with AI capabilities will need end to end Data assimilation , data harmonisation , data engineering , cloud management , algorithms building capabilities and infrastructure . The tech infrastructure also depends on the maturity of the GCC to work upon complex work tasks and problem areas.

 

  • Could you provide some examples of how GCCs have successfully used AI projects to make a big difference?

Few of the GCCs are transforming business functions – HR , FP & A , supply chain , CX using AI for the parent enterprises whilst others are creating new areas of business enhancement and performance by leveraging AI . Further , GCCs are also performing AI projects that are part of business strategy for the enterprises.

 

  • In order to improve their AI skills, how do GCCs work with other organisations, like regional startups, universities, and multinational tech companies?

GCCs need a comprehensive and holistic ecosystem to acquire & nurture the AI talent with strong collaboration from academia , startups to enable GCCs deploy the best of talent across levels , in addition , the training and development of AI talent is regular phenomenon to enable build best of practices within GCCs and enable create new levels of work performance

 

  • What role do Global Capability Centers play in the overall strategy of multinational corporations?

GCCs are actively participating in business strategy formation for parent enterprises and picking up mission critical strategic elements to be driven from GCCs . Enterprises are bringing GCC leaders to be part of strategic discussions and creating a seamless work approach that involves GCC & parent organizations working in unison.
