Vilcart, a rural economy-focused technology startup, announced the opening of its new 10000 sq. ft. office located in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bengaluru. This sleek, cutting-edge, three-story workplace is set to become a hub for innovation and collaboration. This expansion marks yet another milestone for Vilcart in its pursuit of revolutionizing rural retail with the power of technology and innovation.
The new office space is thoughtfully designed to allow the perfect interplay of functionality and aesthetics across the three floors. Its open workspace layout encourages teamwork and communication. Every corner of the office is equipped with an ergonomic design, aimed at ensuring comfort as well as productivity. The meeting rooms are spacious and well-equipped with advanced conferencing technology that will ensure smooth discussions not only internally but also with external parties.
The other unique characteristic of the office is the mini Kirana store on the premises. The creation of this space demonstrates complete reverence by Vilcart for the rural Kirana stores as these stores form the backbone of the company’s operations. Thus, reinforcing Vilcart’s commitment to digitize rural Kirana stores through technology, robust supply chain, and logistic facilities. In March this year, Vilcart clocked revenue of Rs.102 crore.

Established in 2018, Vilcart currently operates across 30,000 villages in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, reaching 85,000 Kirana stores. Going forward, it plans to expand across all of South India by the end of 2024. In January 2023, Vilcart raised $18 million (Rs.144 crore) in Series A funding led by Asia Impact SA.
