Alphadroid’s RaaS Revolution: How Robots transforming Hospitality Industry

CXOToday has engaged in exclusive interview with Sanjeev Kumar, Founder, Alphadroid

1- Kindly help us understand the inception idea and journey till now of Alphadroid.

My personal belief is that many of the repetitive tasks currently performed by humans could be more effectively and enriching be carried out by machines. Tasks such as heavy load lifting, hygiene maintenance, and public cleaning are prime examples. These tasks not only consume valuable human resources but also have the potential to be done more efficiently and effectively by machines, freeing up human workers to engage in more intellectually stimulating and enriching activities.

Although the initial inspiration for Alphadroid was sparked from observing a robot and its activities in Malaysia our vision evolved to encompass a broader spectrum of tasks. A journey across UK and Indian restaurants revealed a common challenge: establishments hesitated to adopt complex and expensive technology solutions to address efficiency issues. This crystallised Alphadroid’s mission– empower restaurants with affordable and user-friendly robotics.

In order to address current problems Alphadroid was born out of a desire to merge human intellect with technology in order to create solutions that seek to maximise efficiency in service industries by way of automation. Our service robots are equipped with human-empowering intelligence, enhancing efficiency and productivity in the service industry through cutting edge technology.

Market validation and testing has been key in this journey. The curiosity and enthusiasm encountered on the field reaffirms market demand for such innovations, fuelling our determination to refine and customise our offerings to exceed expectations. Our belief is that great products are always a work in progress, and only together can we progress.

2- What is the brand vision of Alphadroid and what are the strategic business strategies aims for 2024?

Alphadroid’s vision is to empower humanity & society through AI & machine learning, striving for an affordable, efficient, hygienic and secure world.

Our strategic business aims for 2024 include revolutionising and streamlining the delivery of goods and services by providing on-ground solutions for complex environments, minimising the need for human intervention and benefiting both the industry and society. Our goal in 2024 will be to maximise potential and reach of our products in the hospitality industry, while we will also work towards unlocking new use cases within this industry and expand our research in already identified hospital and retail industries.

Our journey involves continuous improvement and customisation to meet the observed requirements within the industry. For this reason, fieldwork and engagement with industry leaders, clients, and the public will be key in shaping the future of Alphadroid. The partnerships that have emerged as a result of such engagement is promising for the sustainability of our product, reaffirming product market fit and motivating us to pursue exceptional services through innovative technology. Additionally, our target for this year is to deploy 200 robots, further solidifying our commitment to progress and innovation.

3- What are the challenges that you have observed in the automation and robotic segment?

Overall, robotics and automation are going through an evolution curve, and India, being an emerging market consciously designed for cost consciousness is taking longer to accept these cutting edge technologies, where immediate value demonstrations are minimal.

The journey towards embracing automation and robotics encounter several hurdles including issues with infrastructure compatibility, the high costs associated with initial investments, reluctance towards technological adoption, skill gaps, and the demand for solutions that are both localized and customizable. Moreover, societal acceptance and the integration of these advanced technologies into diverse operational settings present additional complexities. These factors highlight the critical need for innovative, adaptable, and culturally aligned automation solutions.

Alphadroid steps up to address these challenges by delivering flexible robotics solutions designed for the diverse Indian infrastructure, offering competitive pricing and financing options like subscription models to ease the burden of upfront costs. Recognising the importance of smooth technological transition, Alphadroid places a strong emphasis on education and support. Enhanced training programs for all clients ensure that employees can effectively interact with new technologies, bridging the skill gap and boosting confidence in the use of automation. Immediately after deployment, Alphadroid provides dedicated client support, including on-site handholding and training during the initial phase, to facilitate seamless integration and operational efficiency. By focusing on customisation, supporting multiple local languages, and understanding the cultural nuances of the Indian market, Alphadroid’s solutions not only meet specific business needs but also foster greater societal acceptance and engagement with automated technologies.

4- What makes Alphadroid stand out in terms of USP’s from other automation and robotic companies?

Our venture’s USP lies in its distinctive blend of a subscription-based model, comprehensive after-sales service, and a seamlessly connected and personalised digital experience. Unlike traditional product-centric companies, we position ourselves as a product + service entity, ensuring our offerings extend beyond mere transactions.

Our commitment to a subscription model makes cutting-edge technology accessible, eliminating the need for ownership. The emphasis on after-sales service underscores our dedication to customer satisfaction and continuous support.
