GameTech Accelerate, led by Government of Karnataka and Games24x7, unveils cohort of 15 shortlisted start-ups at GAFX
First-of-its-kind accelerator programme for the gaming industry to foster innovation and growth in the sector
At the annual Gaming, Animation and VFX (GAFX) 2024 event in Bengaluru, Games24x7, India’s most user-centric, scientific and innovative online skill -gaming platform, announced 15 startups shortlisted for its GameTech Accelerate programme. Launched in December 2023 in partnership with the Government of Karnataka, ‘GameTech Accelerate – The Future of Gaming’ is a first-of-its-kind accelerator programme aimed at nurturing and propelling promising ventures offering innovative and viable solutions for India’s rapidly evolving online gaming industry.
The programme received over 200 applications resulting in the selection of 15 emerging start-ups across four key focus areas including New Games (Real Money, Casual, Hyper Casual, Educational, Simulation, Strategy, and MMO); Real-Time Analytics, Telemetry & Personalization; Security and Anti-Cheating Measures; and Community and Social Integration.
The shortlisted start-ups will undergo a series of mentoring sessions conducted by experts from Games24x7, AWS, and Lumikai. This comprehensive programme encompasses a spectrum of pivotal topics critical for startup success, spanning technological advancements, business continuity strategies, financial stability frameworks, market penetration strategies, and more.
The GameTech Accelerate programme will culminate with an exclusive pitch session for investors scheduled for the month of March, where these startups will have the opportunity to bring their learnings from the programme in their pitch to potential investors.
The shortlisted startups are, Brahman Studios, CBIT Original Gaming App, Credexon, Felicity, Geniuscrate Games, Mantis Pro Gaming, My Tournament, NoobStorm, Pixcell Play, Play CKT, PlayDa, Pro Shooter VR, Score Kount, Tolee and Wega Labs.
The shortlist was announced in the presence of Shri Priyank Kharge, Hon’ble Minister for RDPR & ITBT; Shri Darshan H.V, Director of Electronics, ITBT & Managing Director, KITS and Dr. Ekroop Caur, Hon’ble Secretary, Department of ITBT & ST, through a video presentation.
