Akbar Travels – one of the largest travel companies in India, gets a head start on the competition with early access to Amadeus Value Hotels

 

Akbar Travels is set to bolster its ambitious plans for global expansion by signing on for Amadeus Value Hotels, a solution which gives travel sellers access to a treasure trove of more than 600,000 hotel properties – from independent operators to established chains.

 

Travel sellers today must provide great value with a personal touch to stay competitive. Since 1970’s, Akbar Travels has done just that, and the company has grown from its humble origins in the southern state of Kerala in India to span more than 150 offices around the world. It is now the second largest travel consolidator in India, providing quick, easy and affordable bookings for flights, hotels, car rentals, and tour destinations to both leisure and business travelers throughout Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

 

To help meet its global expansion plan, Akbar Travels has turned to Amadeus to be its preferred technology partner. In addition to signing on for Amadeus Value Hotels, Akbar Travels will be connected to the Amadeus Travel Platform with access to content from more than 400 airlines. This will give Akbar Travels’ customers in the Middle East, Africa and Europe greater flexibility in options and enriched content.

With a seamless back-office integration, Akbar Travels can keep track of all its bookings and easily open and manage any incident requests on the Amadeus Service Hub.
