Press Release

New podcast spotlights how to scale a global tech company in 2024

The podcast supports startups and scale-ups by showcasing firsthand how successful global scale-ups are created and how they have grown

Global cloud communications platform Infobip has launched a new podcast focused on scaleup tech founders and leaders. A scaleup is a company which has increased its turnover or employee numbers by more than 20% annually over three years, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

The ScaleUp & Up podcast will emphasize the people who have bootstrapped their companies, or secured venture capital funding, and how they have scaled a business from scratch. Listeners will learn the lessons and insights first-hand from those leading successful scaleup businesses, what they did and what it took to grow.

Ben Lewis, Vice President of Marketing and Growth at Infobip, said: “The project has been created by the Infobip team which has produced the number one technology podcast in South-eastern Europe, not once but twice, following Infobip’s acquisition of developer media brand Netokracija. Among the hosts is award-winning journalist Mia Biberović, making this a podcast that will challenge the best in the business.”

The podcast has launched with a pilot run of three episodes featuring guests from Infobip. First is Silvio Kutić, the CEO of Infobip, who bootstrapped the business from no turnover to $1bn in revenue in just 14 years. The global communications platform became Croatia’s first unicorn, valued at more than $1bn, when it raised $200m from One Equity Partners.

Ivan Ostojić, Infobip’s Chief Business Officer, is second on the podcast. As Chief Business Officer, Ivan is helping Infobip reach its next phase of exponential growth and global expansion. He is a former partner at the global consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where he led its Global Technology Council. Third up is Mario Ančić, a vice president at One Equity Partners, based in New York and a former professional tennis player. Before entering investment banking and private equity, Mario was a professional tennis player reaching the semi-final of the 2004 Wimbledon Championships, his best Grand Slam result. He was world no.7 in 2006, won a bronze at the Athens Olympics in 2004, and Davis Cup in 2005.

Other confirmed guests include Amir Salihefendić, founder of task manager and to-do list app Todoist, who bootstrapped his business to 30 million users in 13 years.

“At Infobip, we aim to help startups and scaleups achieve their goals through the engagement, reach, and scalability offered by our global communications platform. Our new Scale Up and Up podcast further demonstrates that goal. We hope that through insightful interviews with a stellar lineup of founders and leaders, we can help more tech scaleups achieve their ambitions.”

The first episode is available now, and the second and third episodes will be available in the first three months of 2024. Infobip will release six episodes between April to June, with another six from October to December. The Scale Up and Up podcast is available on YouTube, Apple PodcastsSpotify, and Pocket Casts. Listen here.
