Peak XV Partners Backed AI-Health Startup Cloudphysician Appoints Dr. Mandar Vaidya (ex-OYO, ex-McKinsey) as CEO-India 

  • With over 20 years of extensive experience, Mandar Vaidya has worked with McKinsey & Co for 15 years, and OYO for 4 years. He is an Independent Director on the board of Cipla Ltd.

AI health startup Cloudphysician, a full-stack tech and operations company that partners with hospitals to manage patients in their ICU and Emergency departments, announced the appointment of Dr. Mandar Vaidya as CEO-India, effective June 2024. Mandar brings over two decades of experience driving global businesses and delivering transformative results. His experience as a former partner at McKinsey & Co., where he led the healthcare practice in Asia and developed strategies for hospitals and pharmaceutical companies, will help Cloudphysician serve partner hospitals effectively and drive growth across India.

Mandar was regional CEO at OYO for four years, where he led multiple geographies outside of India (Europe, SE Asia, Middle East, and Japan). He led profitable and transformative growth in these markets via a tech-enabled approach: building scale from India for the world. Additionally, Mandar is an independent director on the board of Cipla Limited. His experience in driving growth and innovation for global companies over the last 20 years will help foster a long-term institutional approach within Cloudphysician.

Cloudphysician recently raised $10.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Peak XV Partners, with participation from Elevar Equity and venture debt firm Panthera Peak. Mandar aims to unlock opportunities to ensure that high-quality intensive care is accessible, scalable, and cost-effective for hospitals everywhere.
