Efficient Irrigation and Water Management

Traditional flood irrigation methods have replaced more efficient techniques like drip irrigation and sprinkler systems. These technologies deliver water directly to the roots of plants, reducing wastage due to evaporation and runoff. The Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, a government initiative, seeks to enhance irrigation efficiency and expand cultivable land under assured irrigation, thereby ensuring a steady supply of water to farmlands.

Mechanization: Saving Time and Labor

The introduction of machines such as tractors, harvesters, and drones for pesticide spraying has not only saved valuable time but has also reduced the physical strain on farmers. Combine harvesters, for instance, have significantly expedited the harvesting process and minimize post-harvest losses.
