Forming strategic alliances and partnerships with hyperscalers gives us the freedom to do what we do best: Kyndryl

CXOToday has engaged in an exclusive interview with  Mr. Sudesh Bajaj, Alliances & Partnerships Lead, Kyndryl India

Since the birth of Kyndryl, how have you been able to partner with multiple hyperscalers?

In line with the global strategy, our goal is to win in the market for revenue growth and profit expansion. We have formed partnerships with industry leaders such as Google, AWS and Microsoft as well as multiple others in our first 100 days as an independent company.

The total public cloud services (PCS) market in India is expected to grow from US$4.6 billion in 2021 to US$13.5 billion in 2026 at a five-year compound annual growth (CAGR) of 24%. India leads in cloud adoption across APAC with 46% of the total application portfolio in the cloud.

Forming strategic alliances and partnerships with hyperscalers gives us the freedom to do what we do best: deliver advisory, implementation, and managed services at scale across multiple technology infrastructures to drive value for our customers. Kyndryl has established a strong collaboration with all our global alliance partners in India and aims to jointly cover 80% of the expanded market opportunity for Kyndryl India.

Kyndryl is committed to a ‘win-win’ relationship with our alliance partners by focusing on essential-for-enterprise services that have a sizable business impact. We co-create, co-invest and co-sell with our partners to bring new and enhanced services through Kyndryl’s practices. We leverage the strength of joint relationships and programs for enhanced access to the extended industry ecosystem and a larger addressable market.

How do you differentiate your alliances with the hyperscalers as compared to competitors?

As an organization, we continue to drive a culture shift of working with alliances. We are not only engaging with our alliances but also building a strong network with their eco-system partners and fostering long term relationships.

Kyndryl’s Alliances strategy approach focuses on leading with our Consult services, expanding market presence and helping customers in their cloud journey. Our enterprise class services with Cloud Resiliency Orchestrator, Cloud Management Platform (FinOps and DevOps) and alliance relationships bring value to the customer through our end-to-end solutions capabilities. Cybersecurity is another important focus area where we are working with key partners through our security consulting and managed services. Our collaborations have helped expand the scope with customers through migration and modernization solutions, Modern Ops and Telco Network Edge.

How are you working with your partner alliances for upskilling and reskilling your employees?

Upskilling and reskilling of our employee talent are key aspects of our alliances with partners including Microsoft and AWS. We provide opportunities for our employees to develop critical skills that support the increasing customer demand for a highly skilled and technically trained workforce through certifications and training under industry experts across all verticals. We are building capabilities in global cloud and infrastructure operations through the Advanced and Professional Certifications of AWS, Microsoft, GCP and SAP that Kyndryls can utilize to deliver high-standard solutions for our customers.
