Jassper Shipping’s Disruptive Approach: Transforming the Shipping Industry Landscape.

CXOToday has engaged in an exclusive interview with Pushpank Kaushik, CEO of Jassper

Can you walk us through Jassper’s journey and how it has positioned itself as a leader in the international shipping industry?

Jassper Shipping began its remarkable journey in 1994 with agency services and pulled the international market to India. Jassper Shipping flourished through time to become a group of companies that included ship broking, vessel agency services, and freight forwarding services.

With a presence in India, Singapore, Dubai, and plans to expand into the Netherlands and Mombasa, what are some of the challenges Jassper faces in navigating various regulatory frameworks across different regions?

Yes, we are among the few businesses that have remained upbeat during these challenging circumstances in the shipping industry. Additionally, we want to be there physically in as many places as we can. We believe that enhanced strategic connections between Asia, Africa, and Europe are necessary in order accomplish this goal. Although there aren’t many regulatory limitations and criteria, our emphasis on offering services has lowered challenges to negligible.

How does Jassper differentiate itself from other players in the industry, and what competitive advantages does the company have?

Our advantage has always been our customer-centric approach, every customer that chooses us, experiences exclusive services. It starts with our comprehension of their need for post-shipment support. Every customer, shipment, and destination, in our opinion, deserves exceptional experiences.

With the increasing importance of technology and digitization in the shipping industry, what steps is Jassper taking to stay ahead of the curve and integrate new technologies into its operations?

Post-COVID, every business has felt the need to integrate technology into their operations. We have automated every aspect of our business over the past three years, including our marketing, CRM, and bookkeeping. We are currently working with other shipping service providers to integrate AI algorithms to better forecast the freight and hire markets and make final decisions.

In light of the current global pandemic and its impact on the shipping industry, how has Jassper adapted its business model and operations to ensure continuity of service and mitigate risks?

We have concentrated on being an asset-light company and making sure we are present in multiple marketplaces. We are reliant on the cyclical and seasonal tendencies of specific markets because we are a country-exclusive company. Post-COVID, our staff has contacted several parties to handle a variety of cargo.

How does Jassper approach sustainability and environmental responsibility in its operations, and what measures has the company taken to reduce its carbon footprint?

Our company has chosen to include 120 electric forklifts and other electric equipment in our fleet as part of our commitment to environmental responsibility.

We adhere to a “No Paper” policy and make sure the vessels we fix for our clients use only VLSFO in accordance with the most recent IMO regulations and have the most fuel-efficient fuel usage.

Can you discuss some of the recent industry trends and developments that have the potential to impact Jassper’s operations, and how the company is preparing for them?

The global slowdown has had an impact on business and is still having an impact. As previously said, our strategy has been to make ourselves available in multiple marketplaces and be prepared to work on cargoes that travel around the world. We are prepared and able to handle any type of cargo in any part of the world.

How does Jassper maintain strong relationships with its clients and partners, and what steps does it take to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty?

Shipping is an experienced-based industry but still, the client’s decisions are dependent on the cost-benefit analysis. Our team ensures we offer the best freight and services at the lowest possible charges. We guarantee complete client satisfaction and offer post-shipment assistance. Our dedicated operations and legal departments help clients with a variety of needs.

In the current geopolitical landscape, what are some of the challenges and opportunities that Jassper sees in the international shipping industry?

The world is evolving quickly, and what we have seen in Russia and Ukraine over the past year might be just the tip of the iceberg. We observe there will be new world leaders emerging and India shall lead this emergence. With the financial sector under stress in the USA, Canada and the UK. Power shortages throughout Europe have had an impact and will continue to have an impact on international business.

In order to ensure that we do not miss out on the global growth wave during these challenging times, Jasper continues to be vigilant and offers its services to clients in emerging markets.

Can you share some examples of Jassper’s recent successful projects or partnerships, and how they have contributed to the company’s growth and success in the industry?

It’s confidential so can’t share.
