Ans 1: With nearly three decades of experience in the agricultural sector, spanning various product categories and geographical regions, my approach to leadership has been significantly shaped by the dynamic nature of the industry. Throughout my career journey, I’ve encountered and navigated through diverse landscapes characterized by volatility, evolving trends, and complex challenges. These experiences have provided me with invaluable insights into the intricacies of the agricultural sector, equipping me with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead effectively as the Regional Head for India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

Drawing upon my extensive experience, I’ve learned the importance of fostering connectivity across different facets of the industry, both within my assigned geography and on a global scale. Central to promoting any organisation’s objectives and products in the diverse markets of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka is a deep understanding of the local consumer preferences, market trends, and regulatory environments.

To effectively meet our objectives I employ a multi-faceted strategy that encompasses various elements. By adopting a holistic approach that combines market insights, consumer engagement, product innovation, and sustainability, I strive to position our organization as a trusted and preferred choice in the diverse markets of the region.

Q3: Being recognized as the first woman to receive the ‘Globoil Person of the Year’ award is a remarkable achievement. How has this recognition impacted your career, and what does it signify for the vegetable oils trade and industry?

Ans 3: As the first woman to receive the ‘Globoil Person of the Year’ award, I am deeply honored and humbled by this recognition. It represents not only a personal achievement but also a significant milestone for gender diversity and inclusion in the agricultural industry, particularly in the vegetable oils trade.
It serves as validation of the hard work, dedication, and contributions I have made to the industry over the years. It has provided me with a platform to amplify the voices of women in agri-commodity and inspire future generations of women leaders to pursue their passions and break through barriers.

This is sending a powerful message of inclusivity and equality, encouraging more women to participate and excel in this field.

While I am grateful for this honor, I also recognize that there is still much work to be done in advancing gender diversity and equality in the commodity sector.

Q4: As a Co-Author of two Amazon Best Selling Books, “UnDefeated” and “Your Blooming Life,” how do you blend personal experiences and professional insights to inspire others, especially women, in an ever-evolving world?

Q5: Could you elaborate on your roles as the Past-President of the Maharashtra Chapter and Co-Chair of the National Board of Advisors for the MSME & Startups Forum for Atmanirbhar Bharat? How do these roles contribute to your passion for supporting women’s roles in various fields?

Ans 5: Serving as the Past-President of the Maharashtra Chapter and Co-Chair of the National Board of Advisors for the MSME & Startups Forum for Atmanirbhar Bharat has been both a privilege and a responsibility. These roles have provided me with the opportunity to actively contribute to the growth and development of the MSME and startup sectors, which are vital engines of economic growth and job creation.

In these positions, I have focused on implementing strategies to support talent management, facilitate access to funding and financial support and operations, and provide avenues for market access for MSMEs and startups. By strengthening these key areas, I believe we can unlock the full potential of these sectors and drive inclusive growth and prosperity.
