2-      What are the emerging trends you have noticed in tech hiring practices, particularly concerning diversity and inclusion?
In today’s tech hiring landscape, diversity and inclusion are crucial. Companies are actively hiring women to bridge the diversity gap and promoting them to lead women in tech groups. They’re leveraging data analytics, expanding sourcing channels, and offering remote and hybrid work opportunities to foster inclusivity. Investment in cultural initiatives like diversity training and mentorship programs, along with transparent disclosure of diversity metrics, is on the rise. Moreover, companies are enhancing support for mothers through extended maternity leaves, back-to-work forums, and policies tailored to facilitate their return to the workforce.

3-      How can we address the challenges hindering women’s involvement in the technology workforce in India?
Addressing the challenges hindering women’s involvement in the technology workforce in India requires a multifaceted approach. Firstly, targeted efforts are needed to provide equal access to education and training in STEM fields. Additionally, creating supportive work environments that offer mentorship programs, flexible work arrangements, and opportunities for career advancement can help retain women in tech roles. Companies and government initiatives should prioritize gender diversity goals and implement policies to combat unconscious bias in hiring and promotion processes. Encouraging the active participation of women in tech communities and providing networking opportunities can also foster a sense of belonging and empowerment. Ultimately, a concerted effort from stakeholders across sectors is essential to break down barriers and create a more inclusive and equitable technology workforce in India

4-      In your opinion, what strategies can organizations adopt to enhance the recruitment and retention of women in tech roles?
To enhance the recruitment and retention of women in tech roles, organizations can implement several strategies. Firstly, fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace culture is crucial, where women feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute. Providing mentorship programs, professional development opportunities, and leadership training specifically tailored for women can help them thrive in their careers. Flexible work arrangements, such as remote work options and family-friendly policies, can also accommodate diverse needs and promote work-life balance. Additionally, organizations should prioritize gender diversity in their recruitment efforts by implementing unbiased hiring practices and actively seeking out diverse talent pools. Creating affinity groups and networking opportunities for women in tech can also facilitate connection, collaboration, and career growth. Ultimately, a holistic approach that addresses both recruitment and retention factors is essential for building and sustaining a diverse and inclusive tech workforce.

5-      Tell us about the Chhalaang 2.0 initiative.
Chhalaang 2.0 initiative aims to address the gender disparity in the tech industry by organizing India’s largest women-in-tech hackathon. With only 10% of the tech workforce comprising women in India, MetaMoprh seeks to bridge this diversity gap by providing a platform for women in tech to showcase their skills. Participating startups have the opportunity to witness the talents of these women and extend job opportunities, thus fostering a more inclusive tech ecosystem. This initiative marks a crucial step (P0) towards empowering women in tech and creating a more equitable industry landscape.
