CyberPeace wraps up its inaugural CyberPeace summit in association with Civil 20, G20, and the United Service Institution of India

The much-anticipated “Delhi Declaration on Cybersecurity” and the innovative “CyberPeace Protocol,” along with Global FIST (Framework for Integrity, Security, and Trust) Framework aiming to establish global norms and inspire collaboration and peace in cyberspace, are a unique focus of this year’s Summit.

CyberPeace, in collaboration with the Civil20, G20 India, and the United Service Institution of India as the Knowledge Partner, and with CP-USI CoE successfully concluded its inaugural CyberPeace Summit 2023 on September 1, 2023, at The United Service Institution of India, New Delhi, with Ministry of Electronics and IT, Government of India, National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Center (NCIIPC), Government of India, Computer Emergency Response Team-India (CERT-In); Companies like Zoom, Meta, InMobi, GMR Group,  Autobot Infosec; Global organizations like Internet Society, MANRS, APNIC, Africa Cyber Defence Forum, Global Ethics, Geneva, Indian organizations like DELNET, India Foundation, SIA India; Academia Institutions like NLU Delhi, NLU Bhopal, NLU Bangalore, ISB Hyderabad, Rashtriya Raksha University, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, SAKEC Mumbai  as the supporters of the summit.

The Delhi Declaration on Cybersecurity, CyberPeace Protocol and FIST Framework were unveiled during the CyberPeace Summit by the former NCSC Lt Gen Rajesh Pant. Conceived against the backdrop of an increasingly interconnected world, this initiative stands as a testament to proactive international collaboration.

The Delhi Declaration envisions a cyber realm underpinned by shared values, robust architecture, and an unwavering commitment to fostering peace and security. With cyber threats transcending borders, the Declaration, in alignment with G20 priorities, underscores the significance of collective action, forging a common understanding and shared accountability among nations.

The accompanying CyberPeace Protocol delineates actionable guidelines and strategies, aimed at a resilient global digital infrastructure. Addressing both current challenges and anticipating future concerns, it serves as a beacon for nations to align their cybersecurity strategies and measures.

Recognizing the leadership and the instrumental role of G20 nations in shaping the global cyber landscape, this initiative calls upon them to champion these principles and reinforce their commitment to an open, secure, and resilient cyberspace. By endorsing the Delhi Declaration and the CyberPeace Protocol, G20 nations can further their legacy of spearheading initiatives that foster global stability, prosperity, and peace.

At the Global CyberPeace Summit, the inception of FIST – a Framework for Integrity, Security, and Trust was announced. As an exemplary multistakeholder initiative, FIST aims to metamorphose the fabric of the internet, making it more open, accessible, transparent, safe, and secure. The pioneering members that form the robust foundation of FIST include industry and nonprofits like InMobi, CyberPeace, USI, and NIHIT. Their unified vision and drive are set to catalyze significant shifts in the digital realm, ensuring that cyberspace evolves in a way that’s inclusive and resilient from cyber attacks and cyber harms.

FIST or Framework for Integrity, Security and Trust is a multistakeholder initiative to make the internet more open, accessible, transparent, safe, and secure. During the inauguration and launch of the initiative, Dr. Subi Chaturvedi, Global SVP, Chief Corporate Affairs, and Public Policy Officer, InMobi, said that FIST was a representation of strength in unity and a coming together of the global south as the new leader of innovation, standards, and global policies to keep the internet safe, open and interoperable. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi said from the ramparts of the Red Fort, it’s high time that we moved away from the slavery mindset and towards a new global approach that is bold, unfettered, inclusive, and brings people together. FIST is the manifestation of that ambition and idea. It’s a movement to ensure that everybody, everywhere can benefit from innovation in an environment that is safe, secure, and has trust built in by design. With a forward-looking global alliance, everyone is welcome.

The CyberPeace Summit also celebrated the exceptional contributions of individuals to the field of cyberpeace through the exclusive CyberPeace Awards and Honors. Recognitions included “CyberPeace Keepers,” “CyberPeace Ambassadors,” and “eRaksha awards.” These accolades acknowledged champions who embody the vision for a safer digital environment and inspire global efforts toward a harmonious future.

Additionally, the winners of the eRaksha Competition, a nationwide online safety competition organized by CyberPeace and NCERT, Ministry of Education, were honored during the event.
