DigiBoxx Secures a Position Among Top 100 Startups in MeitY-Google’s Appscale Academy

Gets selected from 950 app-based businesses for 6-month training on business strategies, best practices and competing on a global stage

DigiBoxx, a Made in India Storage as a Service platform, has been selected to be part of the Appscale Academy Class of 2023. It will be part of a group of 100 innovative start-ups from all over India that will receive 6-month training on various aspects of building a successful app for the global market, including business and monetisation strategies, data safety and security best practices.

On getting selected in the second edition of the Appscale Academy, Mr Abhijit Ray, CTO, DigiBoxx said, “We are excited and grateful on being chosen to be part of this mentorship programme. The startup ecosystem in India is thriving and it is a privilege to be amongst other bright minds in the country. The Google and MeitY collaboration is a wonderful initiative that provides essential resources and knowledge sharing on how to design, scale-up, market and monetise an app at an international level and even secure further funding.”

The Appscale Academy is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) Startup Hub and Google to nurture early to mid-stage startups. The Academy guides startups on how to build world-class apps with virtual instructor-led webinars, self-learning material and master classes on UX design, business models, monetisation strategies, data safety and security practices.

The application process for the Class of 2023 kicked off in mid-December 2022 with a multi-city roadshow to engage with 950 start-ups. The selection process comprised a defined criteria set by a panel of industry experts, members of MeitY Startup Hub, and Google.

DigiBoxx made it to the final 100 startups cohort—which comprises ventures from agriculture, education, health, social and more—that will be trained on how to compete on a global level. Mentorship sessions will be held by leading industry leaders and experts including Padmaja Ruparel (Co-founder, Indian Angel Network & Founding Partner, IAN Fund), Rajan Anandan (MD, Sequoia India, SE Asia and Surge), Sairee Chahal (Founder & CEO, SHEROES), Aditya Swamy (Director, Play Partnerships Google).
