LS Digital Joins the UN Global Compact, Commits to Implement Universal Sustainability Principles into its Business Strategy, Culture and Operations

The company will engage in collaborative projects that align with the UN programme, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals

 

LS Digital, a new-age independent digital marketing transformation group, has announced that it is now officially part of the UN Global Compact, a voluntary corporate initiative that aims to implement universal sustainable principles at the workplace. With this landmark announcement, LS Digital has chosen to support universal environmental and social principles, a move that aligns with the UN’s call to responsible corporate citizenship and being part of the solution to the challenges of globalization.

Prasad Shejale, CEO & Founder, LS Digital, said, “LS Digital was founded to solve the digital marketing needs of corporates. And we would like to continue to be part of the solution and not the problem. There is great concern over our planet’s health, which is intrinsically linked to industrialisation and globalisation. The UN’s call to corporate citizens to adopt sustainable development goals and practises is close to my heart. On behalf of my colleagues, I am happy that we are now part of a larger group of corporates that have pledged to adhere to the core values of the programme in the better interests of our employees, environment and stakeholders.”

The United Nations Global Compact has two core objectives – to follow the Ten Principles and to fuel action that is in-line with goals formulated by the international organization.

The Ten Principles asks companies to support and practise a set of values in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. These principles—which expects corporates to adhere to international human rights, eliminate discrimination in the work place, adopt a precautionary approach to environmental challenges, implement environmentally-friendly technologies, and work against all types of corruption—serve as an essential go-to framework for companies that are part of the UN Global Compact.

Committing to the UN Global Compact aligns with LS Digital’s core values of responsibility towards society and the planet. LS Digital has always been dedicated to investing in projects that can help change lives for the better. This includes a 500-crore litre water storage and conservation project with rural communities in Jalgaon district, a partnership with Madat Foundation to provide healthcare to children facing life-threatening illnesses and an educational program that trained women—called Shalinis—in digital marketing and soft skills.

Participating in the UN Global Compact demonstrates LS Digital’s leadership in stepping up to the higher call of responsible corporate citizenship. The initiative will help to produce practical solutions to issues related to globalisation, allow corporates to leverage the UN’s global reach while collaborating with various stakeholders in the public and private sector, improve employee morale and operational efficiencies.
