Microsoft boosts frontline productivity with next-generation AI

Today, Microsoft is introducing new tools and integrations – including a new Copilot offering for the frontline workforce – that bring the power of generative AI to service professionals on the frontline. Frontline workers continue to face challenges amid labor and supply chain shortages, and they’re not equipped with the tools to do their jobs more intelligently and efficiently. Microsoft’s latest Work Trend Index data found the following about the state of those employees:

  • 1 in 2 frontline workers say they’re burned out at work.
  • 45% are likely to consider changing employers in the next year.
  • Over 60% of frontline workers struggle with having to do repetitive or menial tasks that take time away from more meaningful work and not having the necessary resources to get their work done efficiently.
  • 65% are optimistic that AI will help them in their job.

Currently, over 60% of the Fortune 500 use Microsoft 365 to empower frontline workers, and Microsoft is committed to investing in innovative solutions to help them thrive. Building on this momentum, Microsoft today introduced new tools and integrations including bringing the power of next-generation AI to the frontline across three key areas to improve efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and enable faster decision making:

  • Intelligent operations: Copilot in Dynamics 365 Field Service with Outlook and Microsoft Teams integrations, Dynamics 365 Field Service app in Microsoft Teams, and Shifts plugin for Microsoft 365 Copilot
  • Effortless communication: Announcements in Viva Connections, and Targeted Campaigns in Viva Engage
  • Trusted experiences: Windows 365 Frontline, shared device mode for Android and iOS devices, and more

At Microsoft, we believe that technology can be a powerful force to reimagine how work gets done. By investing in innovative solutions for the frontline workforce, we are helping to drive positive change for frontline employees, customers, and the bottom line.
