Providence India was established in February 2020 by Providence – a leading, not-for-profit US health system – to accelerate Providence’s digital transformation journey through a global capability model and run the business of Providence at scale. In three years, Providence India has become a global health-tech innovation center with 1,400* highly specialized technology, operations, and healthcare domain experts, of whom 37% are women. Their work has helped Providence complete approximately 10 years’ worth of complex transformation programs in just three years and accelerate the shift toward value-based care.

In their fourth year, Providence is leveraging its global capability model and expanding its scope and strategy to help multiple US health systems unlock value by accelerating digital transformation, using emerging cutting-edge technologies such as Generative AI, predictive analytics, Cloud solutions, Process Automation, global coverage and more.

Speaking on the occasion, Providence President and CEO Rod Hochman said, Providence serves at the intersection of innovation and compassion. Over the last few years, the India team has played a catalytic role in helping us embrace healthcare technology to support nurses, physicians, and all caregivers, improve patient outcomes and experiences, and offer affordable and accessible care in our Mission to serve all. Having laid the foundation for rapid AI innovation, we are now excited to see the potential of advanced technology in transforming the way healthcare is delivered and experienced. Even as our caregivers advance science to establish world class treatment protocols, our engineers are reimagining how tech can make care more human and personalized.”

Welcoming the expansion, Hon’ble IT Minister of Telangana D. Sridhar Babu noted, We are happy to see Providence continue to grow and leverage Telangana’s world-class infrastructure, industry-friendly policies, and top-tier talent. I am delighted to note that 2,000 more jobs will be added by 2025. This serves as a testament to the Government’s commitment to supporting industries that facilitate innovation and technological development in the state. We are excited to see this expansion contribute to our goal of making Telangana the premier state for the development of the healthcare and life sciences industry.”

Mr. Murali Krishna, Chief Global Officer and Country Head, Providence India added, “Our new facility marks a new chapter in our journey as the hub for health-tech innovation. We have a multi-generational workforce and inclusive workspaces that foster engagement and co-creation. As we build and extend our global capabilities, we are relentless in our commitment to helping reimagine global health systems, bringing together healthcare and technology to build the future of care.”

The new office facility will serve as a central hub for critical functions, including cloud, cybersecurity, clinical applications and digital solutions, data and advanced analytics, product development, process automation, digital operations, enterprise services, and emerging technologies like GenAI.  Tapping into India’s diverse expertise and rich talent pools, the India hub will actively hire for skills in these areas.
