A projectionist is the one who brings the content together on the surface using multiple projection sources, and inputs, to create one seamless image. Mapping, Geometric and Chromatic corrections, Blending are all parts of a Projectionist’s every day assignment.

Projection Designer: Projection Designers are responsible for conceptualizing an entire project from scratch, keeping in mind the surfaces, the areas for Projection, the client’s budgets vis-à-vis, ROI on the project and the technology to be implemented for it. He plans the hardware and necessary inputs based on the experience he wishes to create for the audience. He typically, along with his team of the above-mentioned professionals create the blueprint of the show. This is a highly specialized line that requires years of experience and a deep knowledge of the Hardware and Software related to the project. Cutting edge blending and mapping softwares such as Watchout, Disguise, etc. are used to create visually stunning projections that are synchronized with music and other audiovisual elements. A Projection Designer should also have a thorough understanding of the immersive content creation and the specific requirements for them, as each project is never the same, based on the surface on which the Projection is being planned and how the A/V content will flow. How the overall audience experience will be, when all the supporting show inputs, eg. Music, lights, lasers, fountains, pyrotechnics etc., all come together to create an experience that leaves the audience enthralled.
