Workplace Yoga Takes Center Stage on International Yoga Day, Boosting Employee Wellness

While yoga has traditionally been associated with spiritual and personal practices, it has also found its way into the corporate world, with startups worldwide recognizing its benefits. In a refreshing twist, corporates embrace International Yoga Day by organizing various activities promoting employee well-being, teamwork, and stress reduction.

 

One of the most popular ways organizations celebrate International Yoga Day is by conducting yoga sessions directly at the workplace. This has been followed by Zell Education, an edtech startup based out of Mumbai, they have conducted a yoga session for their employees on this international yoga day.

There are other companies among which is the Himalaya Wellness Company joined hands with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Uttarakhand State Council, with a particular focus on wellness. The event took place in Dehradun, where a Yoga for Wellness session was organized to promote the health and immunity of the employees.

 

Industry leaders opine that incorporating yoga breaks or workplace yoga into company culture can yield a multitude of benefits for employees and businesses alike. “It helps improve concentration, flexibility, focus, and clarity of the mind by reducing the chatter, while giving a sense of peace and calm, hence helping improve overall well-being and productivity,” says Rajesh Rai, Vice President of – People Team and Head of Human Resources, India, GlobalLogic.
