In an Interaction with Faisal Khan, Animeta Creator, Founder Motorbeam and FK-R reveals the evolution of technology in the automobile industry

CXOToday has engaged in an exclusive interview with Faisal Khan, Animeta Creator Founder Motorbeam and FK-R

Tell us about the process you used to create your content

Since I have been a content creator for a long time now, creating content comes naturally to me and there isn’t any fixed process I follow. I do start with shortlisting a topic (since a majority of my content is a car review, the first step is deciding which car to review), then it’s about arranging the car as per the available schedule. This is then followed by spending a good amount of time with the car, driving it and researching multiple aspects of it, both offline and online. Once I have done enough research (or extensive research in most cases), I start the shoot of the car, over multiple days, in phases.

Depending on how trending the car is, I will accordingly start edits of the videos once the car is returned back. So the 10-20 minute car review you see on YouTube, is actually made after extensive investment of time (in days and weeks) and effort.

How does one create content that resonates with the audience?

There isn’t a straight forward answer to this because the audience is continuously evolving and is varied – something that worked for me might not work for others and vice versa. Thus I would always recommend content creators to keep trying new things, take feedback from their audience and try to bring variety to their content. I firmly believe that a different style or topic should be tried every once in a while to shock (in a good way) the audience.

How has the advent of electric vehicles impacted the industry?

Since EV development is a lot easier, there is a large influx of new companies with electric vehicles as battery and electric motors are outsourced and are very commoditized. This has resulted in the industry now heavily focussing on design and tech to differentiate their cars. EV development also takes much less cost since the development of an electric motor doesn’t require even 1/10th the investment that an internal combustion engine requires. Thus brands selling electric vehicles have a bigger marketing budget!

What are some of the key trends in the automobile industry currently?

SUVs and electric cars are the latest trend these days! Every car company is now making SUVs, be it Lamborghini or Ferrari and this is a global trend. Since developing electric cars is much easier than making ICE powered cars, there are a lot of new brands who are entering this space, more so in the 2-wheeler electric scooter segment.

What role is technology playing in the evolution of the automobile industry?

Tech is playing a huge role, in fact it’s the tech which is differentiating new cars from the old ones. Connected vehicle technology is the latest trend wherein vehicles (both cars and bikes) have an e-sim on board, opening up a plethora of features and services like geo fencing, remote engine start, live audio streaming, etc. The way things are going, in a few years, cars will be gadgets on wheels.

What are your long-term goals for the ensuing five years?

While I don’t have a 5-year plan yet, I do plan to expand into more content verticals and geographies in the coming years. Besides exploring newer markets and segments, I am also looking at collaborating with like minded individuals to further diversity my content.
