Accenture hosts “Hack Diva” hackathon for women in engineering

20,500+ women students from engineering colleges across India showcased their coding and problem-solving skills in virtual hackathon

Today, Accenture announced the winners of ‘Hack Diva’ – its virtual hackathon for women engineering students to showcase their coding and problem-solving skills. The hackathon, open to final year students who will graduate in 2024, saw participation from over 20,500  women from engineering colleges across India.

The first position was bagged by Anusha Reddy Bakaram from Keshav Memorial Institute of Technology (KMIT) – Hyderabad, affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. Anshita Singh from Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), Kanpur, and Shaba Ansari from NITRA Technical Campus, Ghaziabad affiliated to A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University secured the second and third positions, respectively.

The runners up are from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)– Kharagpur,  Indian Institute of Technology (Indian Institute of Mines) (IIT ISM) – Dhanbad, RVS College Of Engineering and Technology (RCET) –   Jamshedpur, J. C. Bose University of Science and Technology YMCA – Faridabad, VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology –  Hyderabad, Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology and Sciences – Vishakapatnam, and  Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology – Sultanpur.

The hackathon comprised three rounds – each designed to test participants’ coding competencies, creative thinking and innovative approach. The winners were evaluated basis four major parameters – time efficiency, memory efficiency, logical correctness, and semantic analysis.

The top three winners received gadgets as prizes. All eligible participants will be given an opportunity to participate in a fast-track recruitment process conducted by Accenture for its Advanced Technology Centers in India (ATCI).
