Greenko Set a Landmark Milestone by supplying 4950 KVA of Green Energy for Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix 2023

Sets a New Standard for Sustainable E-Racing and Accelerates India’s Clean Energy Drive.

The Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix 2023 was a record-breaking event that showcased the power of sustainable energy. With a total power of 4950 KVA of Clean Energy supplied to the grid to support an impressive array of sustainable energy needs for the recently concluded Formula E world Championship.

Hyderabad played host to India’s first ever, and historic Formula E World Championship, on February 11, 2023.  The event saw Jean-Eric Vergne of DS PENSKE emerge victorious. However, the significance of the event transcended beyond the racetrack, with the event highlighting India’s leadership in energy transition and decarbonization.

During the Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix, a total 4950 KVA of Clean Energy was supplied by the event. This included 3000 KVA supply at IMAX and 1950 KVA supplied around the track.

To minimize the carbon footprint of the event, the Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix incorporated several sustainability initiatives.

As part of the green initiatives and awareness of decarbonisation, the Nissan Formula E Team drivers, Sacha Fenestraz and Norman Nato visited Greenko’s Integrated Renewable Energy Project (IREP) in Kurnool.

Formula E drivers were amazed by the scale of Greenko’s ambitious project, and all the work already carried out to build Greenko’s Intelligent Renewable Energy Storage Platform. Sacha was particularly fascinated by the IREP’s scope and the company’s impressive 7.3 GW portfolio that spans 15 different states.

The Greenko Group has a massive renewable energy project in Kurnool with solar, wind, and pumped storage capacities, which also provides energy to power the historic racing event. This allowed for a reduction in the amount of energy that needed to be sourced from the grid, which is typically generated from non-renewable sources.

Greenko, with an installed renewable energy capacity of ~7.5 GW and a presence in 15 states in India, is one of the world’s leading Energy Transition and Decarbonization solutions companies. The company is committed to developing 100+ GWh connected Digitized Cloud Storage across India by 2027 through Intelligent Renewable Energy Storage Platforms. To enable deeper decarbonization, Greenko is also entering the green molecule sector.

Greenko’s vision is not only to meet India’s growing energy needs but also to make significant contributions to the world’s energy transition and decarbonization efforts.

The success of the Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix underscores India’s leadership in energy transition and decarbonization, and Greenko’s work represents a significant step forward in making these aspirations a reality.

The Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix was a record-breaking event with 11 different teams from around the world participating. The event which had an attendance of over 20,000 spectators was an excellent example of collaboration between the government, people, celebrities, and media.
